Terms & Conditions (a.k.a. “The Fine Print That’s Actually Kind of Endearing”)
Welcome to Milk + Honey! By placing an order or sending us your precious inclusions (a.k.a. milk, keepsakes, or whatever you’ve entrusted us with), you agree to the following terms. (Yes, we had to write them — lawyers made us.)
1. Shipping Your Milk (and Other Precious Things)
1.1 How it works
After you place your order, we’ll send you an email with clear, simple instructions for labeling and shipping your milk or other inclusions. We ask for 15 mL of breast milk (it does not need to be cold).
We process your keepsake jewelry in the order we receive your milk/inclusions — not based on when you placed your order.*
1.2 Why “in received order” matters
Because sometimes we get a trickle of milk from one client before a flood from another (life is weird). Your spot in the queue depends on when we physically get what we need.
2. Shipping to You
2.1 Domestic & international shipping costs
For U.S. orders: free shipping on orders over $200.
For international orders: there is a $20 USD shipping fee (added at checkout).
Be aware: your country might charge import fees, customs duties, or taxes when the package arrives — that’s usually out of our hands (and we’re sorry).
2.2 Packaging
U.S. orders ship in a jewelry box inside a padded envelope. International orders arrive in a white box. (We’re classy like that.)
3. Shipping Times & Order Flow
3.1 Timeline estimates
Heirloom jewelry & rings (with inclusions): 12–15 weeks from when we receive your milk/inclusions
Other keepsake jewelry: 6–12 weeks
Birthstone jewelry (no inclusions): 2–4 weeks
DIY kits: 1–5 business days
3.2 Special cases
If you order a DIY kit along with keepsake items, we’ll split your shipment: the kit goes ASAP, and the rest ships when it’s ready.
3.3 “Faster than that” clause (the hopeful note)
We often finish early (because we love overdelivering), but we don’t promise miracles. Sometimes delays happen — e.g. parts from vendors, shipping delays, black hole zones, etc.
4. Care & Maintenance (Because Your Keepsake Is Literally Made From Milk + Resin + Love)
Remove your jewelry before showering, swimming, washing dishes, using lotions/chemicals, or any extremes.
Store it in a cool, dry place.
Tarnish or discoloration (especially on silver or gold-filled pieces) is normal. Use the polishing cloth we send, or a gentle soap + soft brush.
If bolder measures are needed, a very tiny amount of tarnish remover (applied with a Q-tip) may help — but avoid the stone.
Important: Because your piece contains milk-based resin, damage caused by neglect is your responsibility. If something goes wrong, email us (with photos) — we might be able to help (for a fee).
5. Refunds, Cancellations & Returns
5.1 Cancellation & refund window
Heirloom jewelry: $200 cancellation fee per piece
Other jewelry: $50 cancellation fee per piece
Once we receive your milk/inclusions, we cannot cancel or refund your order
Pending orders not finalized within 180 days become non-refundable
Gift certificates and DIY kits: non-refundable
5.2 Why the high stakes
Because once we commit time, materials, and your precious milk, backing out is messy (literally and figuratively).
6. Ring Sizing
Our rings cannot be resized (resizing risks damaging the inclusion stone).
Please get an accurate U.S. ring size before ordering (a jeweler or jewelry counter can help).
If you attempt resizing on your own, do so at your own risk.
Because pieces are handmade, ring sizes may vary by up to ±¼ size — that’s small, but honest.
7. Order Changes After Submission
You may request changes within 24 hours of placing the order, free of charge.
After 24 hours: $200 fee (heirloom) or $50 (other jewelry), per piece.
We cannot alter anything once the milk is preserved (we’re past the point of no return).
8. Our Handmade Promise (and Imperfection Disclosure)
Every piece is handmade (or hand-finished). Minor imperfections are not mistakes — they’re character. Much like life, but shinier.
9. Discount Codes & Promotions
Discounts must be applied at checkout. Once the order is placed, we cannot retroactively apply codes (sorry, no magic wand for price changes).
